POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

WAIVER/RELEASE OF LIABILITY

By registering I agree to:

I, the enrolled participant and/or the parent/guardian of the participant agree and understand that swimming is a HAZARDOUS activity. I recognize that there are risks inherent in the sport of swimming, including but not limited to, paralyzing injuries and death.

The participant hereby agrees to participate in the swimming lessons and hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Blue Dolphin Swim School, its coaches, officers, directors, agents and employees against any liability resulting from any injury that may occur to the participant while participating in the swimming lessons. The participant also agrees to indemnify Blue Dolphin Swim School for any damages incurred arising from any claims, demands, action or cause of action of the participant.

The Participant authorizes any representative of Blue Dolphin Swim School to have the participant treated in any medical emergency during their participation in swimming lessons. Furthermore, the participant and/or parent/guardian agrees to pay all costs associated with medical care and transportation for the participant.

I have noted on this form any medical health problems of which the staff should be aware.

Photography and videotaping is only permitted within the pool area if pre-approved by BDSS Staff. Photography and/or videotaping in the locker/changing room area is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. BDSS reserves the right to deny entry to anyone displaying inappropriate behavior; severe infraction(s) will result in immediate termination of lessons and forfeiture of all monies paid.

PAYMENT POLICY

I authorize Blue Dolphin Swim School to charge my credit card to cover my student’s initial tuition for the current month and, if applicable, the new family one-time registration fee.  Payment must be made for the current month of lessons at the time of booking for all new and returning students.

All enrolled BDSS students will be on AutoPay. BDSS will charge the credit card on file on the 1st of each month for the month’s lessons. VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER are accepted.

You can update your card on file via the Parent Portal at any time. Please read below on other ways to update your account:

2. Call the office at 303-254-6920 and give us the information over the phone; we will put the card on file for you.

3. Stop by the front desk when you’re here for a swim lesson and have us update your account.

CANCELLATION POLICY

I understand that after registration is finalized with the office of Blue Dolphin Swim School, I have committed to a perpetual swim lesson/class and am responsible for making monthly payments until I provide Blue Dolphin Swim School with written notice via email, or verbal in-person, by the 27th of the month prior to ending lessons. This is for any cancellation, whether dropping one lesson/class per week or altogether. Once billing has been processed, I understand that

GENERAL POLICIES

1.    Perpetual Lesson.

Our students take lessons until a written cancellation is received via e-mail, or verbal notice in person, by our office staff. You do not need to call the office to reschedule monthly.  You keep your lesson day and time until you change it or cancel it.

2.    If my child or I do not like your program, may I cancel before the end of 2 months?

We ask that new families observe lessons before signing up, to be sure the program is the right fit for your child.  Once you commit to our program, we commit to your child, and we will do everything we can to help your child to work through any emotional or technical issues they may be having.  It takes time to build trust; please allow us the opportunity to establish a relationship and create the comfort needed to build a happy and comfortable swimmer.

3.    Procedure to cancel lessons:

Send an e-mail notification to BDSS (info@bluedolphinswimschool.com), or confirm in person with a member of the Office staff, by the 27th of the month to stop lessons at the end of the month.

4. Makeup Policy:

We are focused on providing the best swim lesson experience possible. When you enroll your child at BDSS, your lesson time is held exclusively for your child each week. You are paying to secure your child’s lesson/class, not their attendance. The consistency of attending your scheduled lesson/class time is one of the keys to our program.

However, we recognize that conflicts do arise occasionally. To address this, BDSS has a make-up policy that has been designed to be both fair and user-friendly for rare occasions when conflicts do arise. The policy is as follows:

Updated for 2024: We request that families use the customer portal to record future absences. We will need at least 6 hours advance notice of your absence to secure a future makeup class.  The token must be used within 45 days of the absence. Missed classes without notification will NOT be eligible for a makeup class. This is to ensure that there will be makeup spots for you and for the other families.

We ask that you utilize our customer portal to access booking make-ups. Makeups can be booked no more than 7 days in advance. Makeups must be completed while currently enrolled OR completed within one (1) month of stopping lessons. For example, if you stop lessons at the end of May, makeups must be completed by the end of June.

A makeup lesson can be canceled and the token credited back if the cancellation is 24 hours or more before the makeup lesson. Makeups canceled within 24 hours of the lesson will result in a lost token.

Makeups are based on space/time availability; teacher requests cannot be taken for makeup lessons. Due to the low instructor-to-student ratio, we cannot guarantee the availability of a makeup lesson/class.

If you are finding that you must miss your regularly scheduled lesson/class more than on rare occasions, we would be happy to find a new lesson/class at a more convenient time. Please inquire about options with our office staff.

5.    Late for lessons

Our instructors are scheduled in back-to-back lessons and will only be able to take the student for the remainder of the time left in your scheduled lesson time.  The instructor will notify the parent of the amount of time left in the lesson. We understand that things come up, so please notify our office (in the moment) and we will try to give your child a full lesson if possible.  We do not guarantee that any additional time will be available if you are late for your lesson.

6.    New or Substitute Teacher

Blue Dolphin Swim School strives for consistency in teachers, however, we cannot guarantee that any student will remain with the same instructor for any amount of time.  The consistency in our program lies in the method that we teach, not in the teacher.  Each teacher has their own personality and certain personalities work better with certain students.  If there is a personality conflict, please let the office staff know and the office can assist you with changing the instructor. As always, BDSS will keep you informed of any instructor changes. All BDSS instructors are utilizing the owner, Stacy Young’s, gentle touch teaching method.  We do our best to inform our families about teacher changes; however, we do reserve the right to make teacher changes at any time without notice based on company needs.
